The BIOWATCH ID Card “Mediterranean coastal fishes” is a simple waterproof guide for the identification of coastal Mediterranean fishes in the field. The fishcard includes pictures of 40 fish species (20 on each side) with their scientific name as well as their common name in four languages (English, French, Russian, Greek). For each species the range of observed length is given. Hazardous species (biting, wounding, stinging and venomous fish), that should be avoided are also indicated. The BIOWATCH ID Card is employed during the COMBER seminars to identify and record fish species during the dives.

ViBRANT (Virtual Biodiversity Research and Access Network for Taxonomy) is an EU-funded project which will support the development of virtual research communities involved in biodiversity science. COMBER is a sub-project of ViBRANT, aiming at reaching out at the non-scientific society and thus allowing all interested citizens to contribute to biodiversity science. |

The Instititute of Marine Biology and Genetics is one of the five institutes of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR). The IMBG is responsible for implementing the COMBER project, runs this website and scientists of IMBG lead the short seminars on fish identification and accompany the dives. |

The European Diving Institute in Lygaria (just West of Heraklion) is a club that offers high quality scuba diving services, for the past ten years. The Centre has been collaborating with HCMR with many years in the field of scientific diving and is always keen on supporting biodiversity research. Within COMBER it will be one of the dive centres helping to organise the seminars and the dives with the participants. |

Creta's Happy Divers is a diving club in Agios Nikolaos / Elounda, Crete. The club is a long-term collaborator with HCMR in the field of scientific diving and one of the two diving clubs involved in regular monitoring of the local biodiversity fauna in the framework of the NaGISA project. Within COMBER it will be one of the dive centres helping to organise the seminars and the dives with the participants. |

Diver's Club Crete is a diving club with three bases near Heraklion (Crete): Agia Pelagia, Malia and Amoudara. The diving school does not only offer SCUBA lessons and dives but is new member of the COMBER group and offers seminars on biodiversity and fish monitoring by specially trained divemasters and instructors. |

The Cretaquarium, one of the largest aquaria in the Mediterranean, has opened its doors for the first time in 2005. It is situated in the place called Thalassocosmos, a research and education complex 15 km east of Heraklion that also hosts research facilities of the Hellenic Centre of Marine Research. A major goal of the Cretaquarium is to become a place of entertainment where the public is informed and educated on matters that concern the marine environment, through the use of multimedia, the organization of seminars and events constituting an attractive place for all ages. Thus, the Cretaquarium supports COMBER as a part of its mission to raise public awareness for marine issues. |
Altersail is a yachting organization that has been collaborating with HCMR in numerous projects in the field of marine biodiversity educational research for the past two years. Within COMBER it will be the yachting organization helping to organize the seminars and the dives (snorkeling) with the participants.

The dive center "Lesvos Scuba Oceanic Centre" is based on the island of Lesvos, in Greece, one of the largest islands in the Aegean, on the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. The dive school recently joined the COMBER activities and offers not only all kinds of scuba diving activities but also biodiversity seminars. |
